Blueberry Picking in Mount Hood, Oregon

What did I do in between teaching classes today?

I went blueberry picking. All we did was walk from our RV to the rows and rows of blueberries.
We picked over ten pounds of fresh blueberries right off the bushes here in Oregon. With breathtaking views of Mount Hood. Super thankful for a safe and gorgeous place to sleep overnight. Thank you to @harvesthosts & @montavonsberries. One of our favorite Boondocking spots that we ever got while full time RV living was located in beautiful Parkdale, Oregon between Hood River and Mt. Hood.

We stayed the night at Montavon's Berries in our RV on their gorgeous farm! They have Blueberries such as Duke, Bluecrop, Blueray, & Herbert. They have Cherries such Rainier, Sandra Rose, & Bing. They have Raspberries such as Willamette.

Their dedication to quality is evident in the delicious fruit they produce. They are active in all aspects of the farm from pruning, to harvest and sorting to selling. They believe that being this closely involved is the best way to maintain their reputation for high quality fruit.

A family farm is how Montavons Berries started and how it continues to run today.  From their immediate to extended family (including their friends) they both give and receive support in all facets of their lives and the hard work of running a farm is no exception.  At each stage of the farming process you can bank on the fact that a loved one has been directly involved.

We ended up picking over 10 pounds of blueberries. We walked up and down every row and picked the juiciest looking ones. Now y’all, what should we make? Smoothies? Pancakes? Jelly? Pie? Muffins?
