8 Useful Tips for Airbnb Hosts!
We’re not Airbnb hosts but we’re frequent guests and we hope to host in the future. We dream of owning a tiny home or shipping container or treehouse for guests to experience. We have stayed in many different Airbnb's around the world and have learned a lot. There were so many times we wish an Airbnb could've warned us about. Like the time we were woken up every hour on the hour by their roosters and dogs...
Here are the tips from our experience.
1. Clear directions and coordinates. In Google & Apple Maps. Message important specifics before arrival.
2. Don’t skimp on the toilet paper. We’re not going to steal it and it’s been included at every hotel we’ve stayed at.
3. Include plenty of accurate photos, especially if you have multiple listings that are similar but different.
4. Set clear expectations for anything out of the ordinary such as dogs, chicken, etc.
5. Provide local information. A guidebook goes a long way! If you live here, it should be pretty simple. We love seeing restaurant and activity recommendations.
6. Stay in touch. Response time is huge. And responding to questions before arrival. We’ve canceled bookings due to poor response time.
7. The little things speak volumes. Something personal (bottles of water, little treats, breakfast bars).
8. If you have a kitchen, stock it. I’m not talking food, but the little things like some oil and spices.
