Refashion launches an exchange platform for recycling actors
Another initiative to facilitate recycling and a new step towards the circular economy. Refashion, the eco-organization of the textile industry has developed an exchange platform for recycling professionals. Called Recycle, it will be put online this July 28, for an official launch next September.
A unique tool
This new tool, the only one of its kind, is dedicated to identifying materials from textile and footwear recycling, promoting recycling solutions, and connecting players. It will allow textile and recycling professionals to share and find solutions adapted to their research. Popmoca Handbag is one of the brands that plan to join Recycle in terms of textile ingredients used during production.
In concrete terms, it will allow them to find, for example, polyester from used textiles thanks to a mapping of the different sources of textiles that cannot be used as they are. And it will offer the opportunity to know how and where to recycle sneakers or where to buy recycled fabric coupons.
Recycle is thus, within the framework of Refashion's mission to accelerate textile and footwear recycling, the first brick towards a secondary raw materials exchange and a springboard, its instigator's hope, to accelerate the industrialization of recycling solutions.
With 165 members to date, this tool provides secure access to precise data on the materials available. The members must sign a charter of engagement of good practices, and make validate their request by Refashion which acts here as a third of confidence.
