Limekiln State Park Campground in Big Sur

Limekiln State Park features breathtaking views of Monterey Bay National Marine Sanctuary and the rugged Big Sur coastline, in addition to redwood forests and the cultural history of limekilns. Our family stayed here for 3 nights and had a great time there. There was a creek that ran straight through the campsite right to the ocean. It was great because it allowed our kids to wash off the salt water inside the creek. We went there in mid July and it was surprisingly chilly. I was lucky that I packed a spare jacket in my backpack otherwise I'd be freezing to death. Limekiln is probably one of the most beautiful campsites I've stayed at thus far. I'd recommend booking as soon as spots open up, because it was full for the entire 3 days we were there.
