NEW ORLEANS, LA - If you have been cooped up at home for too long, cycling around town is a great choice to get some fresh air, especially since Blue Bikes are returning to New Orleans on September 1. New Orleans has lots of parks and trails and offers several bike rentals, and one of them is Blue Bikes. Just download the app and find the nearest bike rack. Here are some of the bike routes in New Orleans.

1. St. Charles Avenue

St. Charles Avenue is home to huge oak trees, centuries-old mansions, and St. Charles Streetcar. The route also has several award-winning dining, art galleries, and many more.

2. Audubon Park

Audubon Park is located along the St. Charles Avenue route. The park is secluded where you can see Spanish moss and oak trees. It is also a family-friendly route.

3. New Orleans City Park

City Park is one of the most popular parks in New Orleans. It is a four-mile park and you can end up in either Gentilly, Mid-City, Lakeview, or near Lakeshore Drive.

4. Lafitte Greenway

Stroll through Lafitte Greenway and see historic landmarks and murals. In this route, you'll ride from Mid-City, through Tremé where there's the Esplanade Ridge, and end up in the French Quarter.

5. Crescent Park Trail

Crescent Park Trail is located near Jackson Square and the French Market. The trail stretches along the Mississippi River and is the shortest route. However, it is a great place to hang out and provides a view of the sunset.

6. Lakeshore Drive

Lakeshore Drive is a waterfront path great for long-distance biking and training. Here you can also get a view of the sun.
