NEW ORLEANS, LA - The New Orleans Jesters midfielder Mason Walsh has been named to the 2021 National Premier Soccer League Gulf Conference XI. This season, Walsh will be the Jesters' only representation in NPSL XI, led by Jacksonville Armada U-23 head coach Tommy Krizanovic.

Walsh, 25, is the eldest son of former Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City, and Portsmouth forward Paul Walsh. Before arriving in New Orleans, he started his career as an apprentice in his homeland by signing to Championship's AFC Bournemouth in 2014. Then Walsh moved to lower sides such as Altrincham, Hednesford Town, and Salisbury, before arriving in the United States.

Initially, Walsh joined New Orleans Jesters in 2014 and played four seasons in the Big Easy. He moved back to Britain to join Bognor Regis Town in 2018 before coming back to the United States to play with Chattanooga FC in 2019 and 2020.

This season, the winger captained the New Orleans Jesters to a fourth-place finish in the 2021 NPSL regular season. He also led the Jesters past the number one-seeded Jacksonville Armada U-23 in the Conference semifinal.

Unfortunately, Walsh's journey with the Jesters must be halted for a while. The Gulf Coast Conference Championship between the Jesters and the Southern States SC was postponed following the COVID-19 positive test to two of his Jesters' teammates.

In NPSL, each Conference XI includes one head coach, three defenders, four midfielders, and three forwards. Nominees for the 2021 NPSL Region XI teams were chosen from The Conference XI winners automatically qualify as nominees for the team.

Coach Krizanovic along with midfielder Alex Terides, and striker Jovoney Brown, were selected as the Jacksonville Armada FC's U-23 representatives in the Gulf Coast Conference XI. Jesters' future opponent, Southern State SC, have their goalkeeper, Hector Grajeda, elected to the Conference XI while also sending midfielder Julian Avila-Good and striker Tom Shepherd.
