Chicago, IL

I have reported about local news in the Chicago area for more than 30 years. I began writing professionally as a sports reporter during high school before transitioning into writing about music and pop culture during college. After graduating, I spent 15 years covering government, politics, education and the courts, specializing in reporting about race issues and tax increment financing. I eventually became an editor for the suburban publications of the Chicago Sun-Times and the Chicago Tribune. I am currently a freelance writer who has written for the Sun-Times, Tribune, Chicago Reader, TimeOut Chicago, Modern Healthcare, University of Chicago, Argonne National Laboratory, Crain, Patch, The Daily Herald and Lake County News-Sun.
