If you've ever traveled through Texas, you may have seen or visited the mega gas station Buc-ee's. More than just your run-of-the-mill gas station, Buc-ee's is known as a travel center and holds the record for the "world's largest convenience store". Each store can be over 74,000 square feet, have 120 fuel pumps, over 80 toilets, and a carwash that is 250 feet long.

Whether you're hungry, thirsty, looking for souvenirs, or just looking to stretch your legs, Buc-ee's has you covered with a very large selection of snacks, 80 different flavors of fountain drinks, and more t-shirts and hoodies than one person could ever need. Buc-ee's also has a cafe that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner items and offers a large range of dishes the whole family will love. They even offer items such as outdoor grills, fire pits, and all the charcoal and firewood you'll need to keep the fire rolling.

Although Buc-ee's home state is Texas, the growing company has expanded to other states such as Alabama, Colorado, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee, and now Ruston Louisiana. Ruston mayor Ronny Walker and the city of Ruston announced earlier this week that Buc-ee's will be opening its first Louisiana location in their northern Louisiana city.

"This is a tremendous project. We are so grateful that Buc-ee’s has decided to locate its first travel center in the state here in Ruston. The capital investment is huge and the 200+ jobs being created are extraordinary for the citizens of Ruston. We are excited to welcome Buc-ee’s to our community and look forward to their success. This project has been in the works for several years and would not be possible without our wonderful City Council members.” Mayor Ronnie Walker said in a statement earlier this week.

Buc-ee's announced they will be investing over $50 million into this project. The 53,000-square-foot travel center will provide 120 fuel pumps, and bring a minimum of 200 full-time jobs to the location. Starting pay will be $16 hourly and will offer full-time benefits including health insurance, three weeks of paid time off, and a 401-k plan with company matching.
