Among the incredible attributes of Aruba’s beaches is the fact that each is majestically different from the other. Whether you are seeking the shallow wading waters that families crave, incredible snorkeling, sailing, or surfing, there’s something for everyone in Aruba. Here are five of Aruba’s most popular beaches:
Eagle Beach
Located on the Northwest corner of Aruba, Eagle Beach is often rated as one of the top beaches in the world because of its remarkable width, insanely soft, white sugary sand, and the most spectacular sunsets on the island. Eagle Beach is a true neighborhood beach, flanked by low-rise resorts and popular condo rentals with a relaxed family vibe. All the expected beach toys are there: jet skis, boat tours, and snorkeling tours. There are also some great restaurants and casinos, and a Robert Trent Jones II 19-hole golf course nearby.
Baby Beach
Nestled at the Southernmost tip of Aruba, Baby Beach is popular for the shallow crystal clear waters to leisurely wade in the half-moon sandy expanse of the calm lagoon. It’s ideal for families with small kids, and a perfect location for safely snorkeling within a well-marked snorkeling area. There’s a lovely refreshment area for enjoying fun fast-food fare while mingling with locals, especially savoring BBQ at Big Mamas Grill, along with the fresh seafood the islands are famous for.
Dos Playa Beach
Almost hidden in the northeast part of the island, it’s a hike to discover Dos Playa Beach winding up unpaved roads to its secluded location. Dos Playa, meaning “two beaches”, consists of two adjacent coves carved out of the island’s limestone. The surf is high and harsh, great for surfing more than for recreational swimming. Think surfing, bodyboarding, and sunbathing under sea-grape trees, while completing that novel you’ve been wanting to read. Also, adventure amongst the rolling dunes within the Arikok National Park, exploring this beautiful treasure.
Boca Catalina Beach
Also perched in the Northwest corner of the island, Boca Catalina is a favorite among families for safe and easy ocean access to swimming and snorkeling for all ages. The tranquil bay boasts crystal clear, calm waters, white sandy beaches with a spacious parking area with easy access to everything. The water access is a bit rocky, so wear water shoes to walk in. The beach offers beach chairs and cabanas, and there is plenty of jewel-colored fish here for superb snorkeling!
Malmok Beach
Also along the north coast of Aruba, the beauty of Malmok is that it is a lesser-known beach not frequently visited by tourists, yet offers some of the best snorkeling in Aruba right off the beach. This makes Malmok beach popular among snorkeling companies and savvy tourists with catamarans and sailboats stopping by during the daytime. The waters are very calm and clear, perfect for a relaxing swim, but since this is a rocky part of the coast, wear some water shoes to walk into the water. This is also a great windsurfing spot and close to one of the more popular 18-hole golf courses on the island.
