ST. PAUL, MN — St. Cloud State University is now opening registration for the St. Cloud Scrubs Camp, a camp for those interested in health science professions.
The event aims at high school and middle school students from 7 to 12 grades. It will be on July 14 and 15 on the St. Cloud’s campus.
The camp will provide interactive and pleasing sessions from St. Cloud State University and St. Cloud Technical & Community College faculty and students.
For theme for this year’s camp is “emergency case scenarios”. The participants are given insight into how healthcare workers should respond in a scenario where an athlete suffers a head injury on the field.
Faculty and students from St. Cloud State University will also provide information about the roles of other healthcare workers such as social workers, counselors, and EMTs.
Other opportunities such as learning with healthcare professionals and equipment are also provided for the participants. Students will be engaged in a discussion of the careers and diagnostic considerations for the case scenario.
In addition to the camp, there is also a scholarship for students who need assistance. The scholarship is provided for Minnesotans students with a GPA of 2.0 or more.
