Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp to host Norfolk Tides for 7 Games Over 6 Days

The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, Triple-A farm club of the Miami Marlins, return home to host a 7-game homestand versus the Norfolk Tides August 3-8. There's a lot going on at 121 Financial Ballpark this week, so let's have a look.

All listed times are Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).

Tuesday, August 3 will be Military Appreciation Night. All active and retired military, veterans, and their dependents are eligible for free tickets to the game, subject to availability. You can pick up your tickets at the 121 Financial Ballpark box office the day of the game.

Community First Credit Union customers will enjoy a two-for-one ticket special at the box office when they use their credit union credit or debit card. Fans who are not members of the credit union can receive information on signing up at a booth on the concourse. The first pitch will be thrown at 7:05 p.m.

Wednesday, August 4 will be a doubleheader, a makeup of the postponed June 13 game. It will also be Forever Vets Animal Hospital Canines and Crustaceans - AKA Dog Day. Dogs get in free when their owner purchases a ticket. There will not be any kiddie pools set up in the dog-friendly areas, so make sure to bring a bowl so your canine friend stays hydrated.

The Jumbo Shrimp will collect school supplies Wednesday to donate to the Duval County Schools. Everyone donating at all five of the Jumbo Shrimp Drive Results games will get to throw out a first pitch later this season.

Vystar Credit Union members can pay with their cards for buy one, get one tickets Wednesday. The first pitch of the first game will be thrown at 5:05 p.m, and the second game will start approximately 20 minutes after the conclusion of the first.

Thursday, August 5 will see the Jumbo Shrimp take the field one more time in black Duuuval Vice jerseys in a tribute to the city of their parent club, the Miami Marlins. Get there early, because the first 2000 fans in the gate get Vice Night hats, presented by Swisher.

Enjoy Thirsty Thursdays, where fans will be able to purchase $2 12 ounce Budweiser products and $3 24 ounce Budweiser products. DJ Swagg and DJ MoneyGud will supply the tunes on the Tiki Terrace. The first pitch will be thrown at 7:05 p.m.

Friday, August 6 will be a tribute to the Cozy Coupe. You probably had one growing up. At the end of the game, the Jumbo Shrimp will give away a life-size Cozy Coupe that you can drive. They'll also have Cozy Coupe races and contests to see how many people can fit into Cozy Coupes. There will be fireworks after the game as well, presented by Ponte Vedra Golf Carts.

The Jumbo Shrimp will wear red Friday to support the military. If you wear red too, they'll either give you a dollar off your ticket or donate a dollar to charity.

Enjoy Friday Night Lites at the ballpark, with $2 12 ounce Miller Lites from 6 to 7:30 and $1 off craft beers at the Brown Canopy in left field. The first pitch will be thrown at 7:05 p.m.

Saturday, August 7 will feature a Back-to-School Backpack Giveaway to the first 2000 fans, presented by Baptist Health & Wolfson Children's Hospital.

Saturday will also be Family Faith Night with special guest Shenette Doyle. Doyle is a motivational speaker, Miss Florida International 2006, a retired Jaguars cheerleader, and is currently studying to be a Licensed Mental Health Therapist. The first pitch will be thrown at 6:35 p.m.

Sunday, August 8 will be Baptist Health Sunday FUNday. Kids can run the bases after the game, and there will be free face painting and balloon animals. Also join Wolfson Children's Hospital for a salute to the Heroes of Healthcare.
