Bulls Return Home to DBAP to Host the Memphis Redbirds for 6 Games

Paul Ryburn

Memphis had a 15-game win streak in July

On Tuesday, August 3, the Durham Bulls, Triple-A farm club of the Tampa Bay Rays, will return home, having just come off on a week on the road at Norfolk. The Bulls will host six games this week against the Memphis Redbirds, Triple-A farm club of the St. Louis Cardinals. Durham will have its hands full with the Redbirds, who went on a tear last month, winning 15 consecutive games. Let's have a look at the upcoming action at Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

Games and promotions this week

All listed times are Eastern Daylight Time (EDT).

Tuesday, August 3 will kick off an exciting week at the ballpark with Tuesday Night Baseball. The first pitch will be thrown at 6:35 p.m.

Wednesday, August 4 will feature a North Carolina barbecue battle. North Carolinians are passionate about their barbecue, and this will be your chance to settle the dispute. You'll be able to sample different barbecue sauces and vote for your favorite. The winner will be announced at the end of the night. (Of course, Durham's opponent, Memphis, is known for some pretty fine barbecue too!) The first pitch will be thrown at 6:35 p.m.

Thursday, August 5 will be the beginning of Bull Sharks Weekend at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The Durham Bulls will wear shark-themed uniforms. Thursday is also Beats, Brews, and Baseball. Prior to the start of the game, there will be a live music performance on the Diamond View concourse. The first pitch will be thrown at 6:35 p.m.

Friday, August 6 will be a continuation of Bull Sharks Weekend. Once again, the Durham Bulls will play the game in special shark-themed uniforms. Make sure to stick around after the game comes to an end, because Friday Night Fireworks will light up the sky above the park. Friday Night Fireworks are presented by BioMeneux. The first pitch will be thrown at 6:35 p.m.

Saturday, August 7 will be a special celebration of Dinos at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Did you know that North Carolina has a rich and colorful history with dinosaurs? This evening will also celebrate South Korean baseball team the NC Dinos, the 2020 champions of the KBO League. Fireworks return to the park Saturday night following the game. The first pitch will be thrown at 6:35 p.m.

Sunday, August 8, kids of all ages are invited to come dressed up as your favorite pirate or princess for Pirates & Princesses Night. Kids will be able to run the bases following the conclusion of the evening's game. Kids Run the Bases is presented by Nature's Twist.
