Hartville Marketplace presents Labor Day Flea Market

Paul Krasinic

HARTVILLE, OH - Hartville Marketplace, the county's largest flea market, is holding a Labor Day Flea Market from September 2 until 6 at 1289 Edison St. NW, Hartville.

There will be over 1,000 merchants offering high-quality items ranging from locally grown fruit to one-of-a-kind antiques from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The event will start on Thursday and ends on Monday, but keep in mind that the market will close on Sunday.

Before joining the event, there are some things the organizers encourage the visitors to pay attention to.

The entire property spans over 12 acres, so wearing good walking shoes is recommended for anyone who wants to explore the inside and out of the event. Moreover, the event will be held outdoors, so wear sunscreen and regularly hydrate yourself.

Parking is usually in short supply. It is better to come early around 7 a.m., to get the desired parking spot.

Visitors are advised to leave their pets at home since the market is paved with blacktop, which can become extremely hot and dangerous to pets' sensitive feet.

Visitors can learn how to navigate like a local by using the back entrance to the Flea Market: Access off of Market St. Get there from the north by taking Waterloo Rd. to Mishler Rd. Mishler will turn in to Market. OR State Route 43, right on Andrews then left on Market. Also note that on holiday markets, traffic is always insane.
