CANTON, OH – The City of Canton is looking for a part-time Front Desk Lead (SECC & Recreation) position to be filled. As a Front Desk Staff Member, you will be responsible for receptionist and clerical tasks in the government office. It is your duty to deliver the best customer service and community program updates as it will make the guest feel comfortable.

As a part-time Front Desk Lead in the City of Canton, your duties include, but are not limited to keeping the front desk clean, tidy, and prepared with the necessary supplies. You need to greet, communicate, and welcome the guests, as also respond to customers’ questions and address their complaints.

On day to day basis, you will answer all the incoming calls and redirect them to whom they concern, receive letters, packages, and send them to the correct destination, as well as prepare and manage the outgoing mail including checking, sorting, and forwarding the emails as needed. Responsibilities include monitoring office supplies and ordering supplies as needed, and also monitoring and updating records, files, office expenses, and costs.

The job descriptions above are the main duties, while you will be faced with additional responsibilities in the department as required. You will have to work from 7.30 AM to 2.30 PM with a wage rate of $12.00 per hour. The benefits may include paid vacation, paid holidays, and paid sick leave.

You are expected to have qualifications such as hands-on experience with office machines (computer, printer, etc), in-depth knowledge of office management and bookkeeping; good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, ability to work in a team, excellent time-management, interpersonal, and communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

A customer-oriented mindset and a sense of ownership and pride in your work are also the key features to be considered. You will need to show your High School diploma, but any other diploma will be put into consideration as an advantage.
