AKRON, OH — On June 17, 2021 Summa Health has announced that its Stow-Kent Medical Center, located at 3825 Fishcreek Road, Stow, OH 44224, will open on June 29. An urgent care center, outpatient infusion center and a variety of other services will be housed in the new two-story, 56,000-square-foot comprehensive medical center. The facility was built with the patient in mind, with access to value-based services being a top concern.
The Stow-Kent Medical Center will offer the following services to region residents in one convenient location:
- Urgent Care
- Imaging — mammography, bone density, X-ray
- LabCare Plus
- Cardiac testing
- Outpatient infusion
- Pulmonary function testing
- Behavioral health
- Gynecologic oncology
- Primary care
Furthermore, the first floor features an open, central registration space, making it simple for patients to navigate the check-in procedure and where to go for service. The entire second level is devoted to medical practices, which are housed in a vast, integrated medical facility, allowing providers to collaborate closely for unified care.
This place is also historically noteworthy in the medical community. Three families bought the acreage in 1954, becoming Stow's first African American families. The medical community also included Dr. Melvin and Leona Farris, Dr. Noah and Norma McNeil, and Dr. B.N. and Winifred Riddle. Summa Health will dedicate a plaque in their honor, which will be permanently housed inside the new facility, to acknowledge their accomplishments.
Members of the media are welcome to join exclusive tours on Tuesday, June 22, where they will be able to capture photos, film and conduct interviews. Please make an appointment with Shannon Kew, Public Relations Strategist, by calling 234.312.5432 or emailing email@example.com.
Summa Health will also hold an open house on Saturday, June 26 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with a special ribbon cutting ceremony, COVID-vaccinations, facilities tours, and more.
