AKRON — Elevate Akron will be hosting its 8th Annual Yoga Festival on July 15 at Lock 3, in the heart of downtown Akron.

The community celebration promises the same outdoor fun as in previous years with events such as an all-level outdoor yoga class with live music from local musicians, tasty food from local food trucks. It also offers visitors the chance to connect with local businesses, nonprofits and artisan vendors while cracking a cold one.

While early bird tickets are already sold out, the event is still offering Tier 1 tickets on sale until June 18 for $15, and Tier 2 tickets will be available from June 19 to July 14 for $20. Event Day Tickets will also be available for $30. Children are also welcome, with tickets for ages 6-12 are offered at $5 and free admission for ages 5 and younger.

Attendees will get access to the event, one limited-edition face mask, and a digital program guide with special deals to local businesses.

Elevate Akron is also doing its part in helping and empowering local communities that need it most by providing emergency funding to 320 yoga teachers, musicians and artists in 2020. They also launched their H.E.A.L series early in the pandemic: a free digital weekly program that featured over 16 wellness-based business owners offering guided practices for yoga and self-care.

The organizers also partnered with local businesses to provide workplace wellness programming for healthcare workers, teachers and professionals in need to battle the negative effects of pandemic stress.

“Elevate Akron’s passion is to make yoga accessible and bring our community together. In light of the stresses of this past year, we’ve seen the need to share yoga with our community and we’ve adapted to meet this need by expanding our programming to touch lives throughout the year.” says an event representative on their website.
