High Museum of Art
The High Museum of Art in Atlanta’s Midtown arts district is a leading art museum in the Southeast. This award-winning museum has a large permanent collection of modern and contemporary art and photography. It also is the only major museum in North America to have a department dedicated to folk and self-taught art by Southern artists. The High Museum of Art is open Tuesday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Alan Avery Art Company
The Alan Avery Art Company contemporary art gallery is located in the Buckhead district of Atlanta. The gallery is the oldest sustained art gallery in the city. They represent sculpture, painting, and photography works by emerging, mid-career, and internationally established artists in the contemporary arts. The gallery is open Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Pryor Fine Art
Pryor Fine Art, also located in Buckhead, represents more than 60 carefully selected emerging and established artists from across the globe. The gallery presents a range of abstract and representational painting and sculpture work from a diverse group of artists. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Whitespace Gallery
Located in a converted carriage house in Atlanta’s historic Inman Park, Whitespace Gallery exhibits unique and experimental pieces of contemporary art. Works displayed often include a combination of objects, images, video projections, and other elements. The gallery displays artwork from both established and emerging contemporary artists. The gallery is open Thursday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Atlanta Contemporary
Atlanta Contemporary has been one of the Southeast’s leading contemporary art centers since it was founded in 1973 as a grassroots artists’ cooperative. The center presents over 200 artists from the local, national, and international art scenes. Their exhibitions are known to be cutting-edge and sometimes controversial. And they have an impressive exhibition schedule of six to ten exhibitions per year along with extensive education programs. Atlanta Contemporary is open Tuesday through Wednesday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.; Thursday from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday through Saturday from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m.; and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
