Now is your chance to see the Sistine Chapel up close and personal – without ever having to leave Atlanta!

Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition at the Westside Cultural Arts Center in Atlanta, Georgia recreates the wonder of the ceiling paintings from the Sistine Chapel.

Even if you’ve been to Rome, Italy and the Vatican City to see the Sistine Chapel in real life, this experience of Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition will give you a much better view of the work of art.

Using state of the art technology, this innovative exhibition has recreated 34 life-size photographs of scenes from the iconic Sistine Chapel ceiling painting, bringing the paintings down from the ceiling and staying true to their original size. These include “The Last Judgment” and the famed “Creation of Adam”, where God’s finger is about to touch Adam’s, beginning all life.

Not all of the works inside the Sistine Chapel have been recreated for this exhibition. For instance, bordered elements and framing devices have been cropped to fit the exhibit design. But you will still be able to see much more detail of the expansive works of art than if you were to visit the Sistine Chapel yourself.

You don’t have to strain your neck looking up at these Bible stories that Michelangelo brought to life. You will be able to observe and fully engage with the artwork, getting an up close and personal look at the artwork in a way that is impossible to achieve in the real Sistine Chapel.

Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition is produced by Los Angeles-based SEE Global Entertainment. The exhibition aims to give guests who have already visited the Sistine Chapel a new way of observing the art, and guests who have never seen the originals the inspiration to visit the Sistine Chapel sometime in the future.

The Westside Cultural Arts Center is a proponent of the development of Atlanta’s West Midtown and of fostering the arts community in this neighborhood.

In order to remain COVID-safe, the exhibition has implemented timed ticketing and a limited capacity. In addition, guests will adhere to physical distancing guidelines and will be required to wear a mask at all times while visiting the exhibit. You can also download an audio guide system and augmented reality to use on your own smart phone.

Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition is open Thursday through Sunday from February 13, 2021 until May 23, 2021. Tickets cost $18 for adults; $14 for seniors 65+, members of the military, and university students with a valid school ID; $12 for children 17 and under; and free for children 5 and under. You can purchase a discounted Family 4 Pack for 2 adults and 2 children for $45.
