The secret is out – Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience is making its North American debut at the historic Pullman Yards in Atlanta, Georgia on May 19, 2021.
The popularity of immersive Van Gogh experiences was fueled by Netflix’s 'Emily in Paris'. In the show, Emily and her new French friends visit the Atelier des Lumieres, a museum known for its immersive digital exhibitions. The impressionist strokes of Van Gogh’s Starry Night dance over the characters as they grapple with the confusion of their love triangle.
Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience is not the only immersive digital exhibition featuring Van Gogh art coming to the United States, though. And the similar exhibits have caused some confusion with the public.
There are currently five different Van Gogh exhibits coming to the U.S. at various times throughout the year. Immersive Van Gogh is one that has been in the states since early February 2021. It was created and run by the same team behind the 'Emily in Paris' exhibition. Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience is the next one to open in the U.S. in May. Van Gogh Alive opened in late November 2020 and will continue to run throughout 2021. Beyond Van Gogh: An Immersive Experience opens for a short stint in April 2021. And Imagine Van Gogh: The Immersive Exhibition opens for a short stint at the end of the year in December 2021.
But none of these other experiences currently have dates in Atlanta, so it should be easy to avoid confusion.
Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience will offer a 360-degree immersive digital art experience bringing to life the impressionist universe of Vincent van Gogh. Through digital production technology, visitors will get to explore the life and work of Van Gogh like never before.
The exhibit includes cutting-edge 360-degree digital projections, a one-of-a-kind Virtual Reality (VR) experience, and a uniquely atmospheric light and sound spectacular.
The event will take place in a family-friendly COVID-safe, two-story, 20,000 square foot space at the Pratt Pullman Yard development. The 27-acre historic site is destined to become one of Atlanta’s top entertainment districts. The mixed-use development is set to include sound stages, film-related facilities, green space, parks, and pedestrian access.
Visitors to the Van Gogh experience will be required to wear face masks at all times and adhere to strict anti-COVID transmission protocols as outlined by the CDC. The event will provide hand sanitizer stations for visitors to use on-site.
The experience is brought to life by European entertainment producer Exhibition Hub and presented by Atlanta-based Immersive Hub. More than 65,000 tickets have already been sold for the Atlanta opening. And due to the high demand, producers are already adding additional time slots for visitors so that more people can enjoy the immersive Van Gogh experience.
After Atlanta, Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience will open in Boston, Dallas, Houston, Las Vegas, Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Seattle, and Washington D.C.
Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience will run in Atlanta from May 19, 2021 through the end of the year. Ticket prices range from $19.10 for children to $32.30 for adults.
