Connecticut keeps coming up everywhere as one of the states with the best pizza. It sure looks like New York has some competition. Here are a few buzzworthy pizza spots that have been highly rated this past year.
Griggs pizza in Greenwich is one of the only pizzerias that make their pizza sourdough based. So all the gluten intolerant peeps can certainly make a trip to this place and be happily surprised by the pizza and sandwiches as well. Of course all sourdough lovers are welcome:) Known for their Margherita pir but plenty of other options to create your own pie as well.
This new pizza place has been another noteworthy spot to visit this side of CT. Bringing Neapolitan pizza to the already famous pizza strip in New Haven. Zeneli’s Pizza offers pies such as the Salsiciotta and doughy and well cooked calzones have foodies lining up to get in.
Starting out in New Haven, naturally where the best pizza came from, Sally’s Apizza, the infamous pizzeria has opened up its second location right in Stamford and Sally’s is not slowing down at all with opening up more locations. Hard to beat pizza combos like their original tomato sauce pie to the classic New Haven original clam pie. It’s a must try.
Dante’s Pizza in New Canaan keeps the town and its surrounding areas buzzing with quality wood fire pizza that everyone can’t get enough of. With only just a handful of specialty pies and lots of different toppings to help create your own.
Atticus Market pretty much has everything that you’ll want to visit, one of a kind breakfast sandwiches, unbeatable coffee amongst other epicurean delights but something they do have that has everyone coming from near and far to New Haven is pizza but not any kind of pizza, really delicious and interesting flavor combinations. Only available on Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 4:30 to 8pm or until they run out. Check out one of their pizzas that have pork and collard green ragu with stracciatella and pickled pepper with a fennel crumb. Foodies you don’t want to miss out on this. It is best to order online beforehand.
Quartiere in Stamford has made a name for themselves for their artisan style pizza. They have flavors from their red pizza pie section like the Americana, pepperoni topped with hot honey and pecorino cheese. Tartufo pie from the white pizza section that is filled with truffle cream, mushrooms and prosciutto. They offer gluten free pies as well! With an overall delicious menu of entrees and appetizers. A great cozy spot located in Stamford.
Here at Parlor Pizza, they take their pizza seriously, taking 4 years to develop their pizza to meeting their own very high standards is a feat not to mess with. Two locations in Darien and Wilton with a full menu offering inventive flavor pairings such as butternut soppressata pie, potato pie and a bacon and brussel sprout pie. We now know why two locations are needed.
