Some of your favorite stand-up comedians are either planning a return to the road or have started already. The biggest news in stand-up is yet to be announced, that being whether comedy icon Eddie Murphy will resume plans to go on tour once he feels he and his audiences are safe from COVID-19's spread.

COVID-19 has also shaken up the comedy world as there has been an exodus from L.A. With there being such a long stretch where shows were impossible, the benefits of living in the world's capital for show biz started to wither.

Add Joe Rogan's $100-million-dollar deal for his podcast, and his desire to find a friendlier tax rate, and you have lots of stand-ups who are taking up residence closer to Missouri.

It was never a rare thing to see an A-list comedian stop by Saint Louis or Kansas City, but after Jerry Seinfeld and Dave Chappelle did shows in Springfield in recent years, there is now a third Missouri city that top comedians consider.

The comedy train is just starting to build up steam after the shutdown, but the odds of Missourians having some great shows over the next few years keep going up.
