Hawaii's Famous Turtle Beach

Two things that Hawai'i is famous for are Beaches and Musubi. This beach in the North Shore is one of the most famous spots people love to visit to get a beautiful view of the Honu or Green Turtle. While it is affectionately known as Turtle Beach, the real name is Laniakea Beach. A fun fact about the Honu or Green Turtle is that it gets its name from the green fat inside of it instead of the color of its shell. They are prevalent throughout the Hawaiian Islands but this beach in particular is known for constant sightings. Right across the beach from Laniakea is Musubistro which is open on Saturday and Sunday until they sell out. Their musubi is not a traditional musubi with spam but rather a fresh mahi mahi filet, breaded and fried, katsu-style and then packaged with rice and seaweed.
