Dungeness Lighthouse in the Sunrise

Dungeness Spit is the longest spit in US. The Dungeness lighthouse stands over the end of the Spit. The distance between the Dungeness Wildlife Refuge Center and the Dungeness Lighthouse is about 5.5 miles. During the lower tide period, you can easily jog along the beach to the lighthouse.

Here the Sunrise shot was taken near the overlook point, where you can just walk along the trail from the camping ground to the beach for one mile. It was cloudy morning, and there was little opening above the horizon. Mt Baker loomed behind the Lighthouse. 15 minutes after the sunrise, the Sun camp up from behind the mountain. I was lucky to have 5 minutes to take a few shots until the Sun entered the cloud.
