Millions Of Dollars Lost In This Abandoned Six Flags

The theme park was first opened under the name of Jazzland in 2000. In 2002 and a leasing agreement was made with Six Flags after the original owner filed for bankruptcy. Six Flags invested $20 million in upgrades, and in 2003 the park reopened as Six Flags New Orleans. In 2005 when Hurricane Katrina was on its path towards Louisiana, the park closed its gates, and due to the damage that this record breaking hurricane caused it was never able to reopen.
