How hospitals can help end homelessness
Although it may seem counterintuitive, hospitals release people experiencing homelessness back to the streets all the time, according to Dr. Richard Bryce of Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Perhaps they’re treated for a leg infection, then returned to the cold concrete that caused the wound. Chances are they will end up in the hospital again, he said. Indigent care costs taxpayers more than $70 million annually in Denver, and that number is going up now that a sales tax has been approved to benefit the hospital.

Opinion: Evicted homeless hotel residents spend holidays back on streets of Denver
I often write about the nonsense that transpires at Fusion Studios, the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless property where I live. There is a lot of noise and violence here and I often feel as though management tolerates too much. But people do sometimes get thrown out of here, and often they stay in the neighborhood when they return to the streets.

UPS truck slams into homeless Denver RV dwellers in hit and run
A couple who had lived in their RV on the streets of Denver for many years became the victims of a hit and run last month. According to a statement e-mailed to the author of this article from Housekeys Action Network Denver, or HAND, “Unlike normal hit and runs where police investigate the incident and get insurance info from the perpetrator to pay for damage, in this case police have refused to investigate and get insurance to pay for repairs -- specifically because this couple is houseless living in the RV. Anti-houseless statements by these police have made this prejudice clear - and left this couple with a severely damaged trailer and RV.”
