Sometimes it is difficult when you like someone and have been hanging out with him or her for a while to know if he or she is interested in you as well or if you are just a friend. This kind of situation can be difficult to navigate as you may not know how to react to certain situations, and you may not be sure whether or not to ask the other person to become more serious. So, how do you know if you are just a friend or if the other person sees you as more? The answer to this is different for everyone, but here are a couple of suggestions that might help you figure it out.

1. Ask him or her.

Instead of beating around the bush, why not just ask? By doing this, you will be able to know how serious the situation is right away without having lingering questions.

2. Find out if the other person is interested in someone else.

If the person that you are talking to is constantly talking about another person, then he or she might be interested in dating him or her. See if your love interest is willing to communicate about relationships and listen to what he or she says.

3. Ask your mutual friends.

If the two of you have mutual friends, then ask one of them whether your love interest has said anything regarding how he or she feels about you. This might bring you more clarity and save you from making a move if he or she isn't interested in the same thing.

Finding out if you are someone's friend or if he or she has feelings for you can be difficult, but communication is the first step in this process. One good talk could create more clarity.
