Have you ever been hanging around someone for a while and wondered if he or she is a good friend? This isn't something that everyone thinks about right away, but once in a while, it is nice to know who has your back and who doesn't. If this sounds like something that you have been pondering, then there are a few things that you might want to determine.

1. Attentiveness can be a sign of a good friend.

If your friend listens to what you say to them and gives you feedback when it is needed, then he or she might be a good friend. Friends usually care about your life and the things that are going on in it.

2. Loyalty can be a sign of a good friend.

If your friend defends you during an argument or sticks up for you when someone is putting you down, then he or she might be a good friend. It is always nice to have someone in your life that thinks you are important enough to defend.

3. Initiative can be a sign of a good friend.

If your friend is constantly going out of his or her way to hang out with you or invite you to events, then he or she might be a good friend. A friend usually wants to hang out with you and spend time doing things that the two of you like to do.

4. Inclusiveness can be a sign of a good friend.

If your friend invites you to parties and other social events that he or she was invited to, then he or she might be a good friend. A friend usually wants you to share experiences with him or her.

5. Trust can be a sign of a good friend.

If your friend confides in you as much as you do in him or her, then he or she might be a good friend. Being able to trust each other is a good indicator that you have a strong relationship.

Friendship may not always be easy to navigate. It may have some ups and downs, and the two of you might not always get along. However, if your friend makes an effort to be a part of your life and care about the things that you care about, he or she might be a lifelong friend.
