Who was the real Amy Winehouse? That's the question publisher HarperCollins hopes to answer when it publishes a collection of the late singer's journal entries.
HarperCollins plans to release "Amy Winehouse — In Her Words" in August. The publisher said the book will contain Winehouse's "never-before-seen journals, handwritten lyrics and family photographs together for the first time."
According to The Bookseller, HarperNonFiction publishing director Katya Shipster and HarperCollins US senior vice-president and director of creative development acquired the world language rights to the book from Maggie Hanbury at The Hanbury Agency.
HarperCollins said the Winehouse estate "will donate 100% of the advance and royalties it receives (net of agency fees charged) from the production and sale of this book to The Amy Winehouse Foundation."

"This beautiful new collection of Amy's notes and musings shows another side of Amy – her fun and witty side. We wanted to share this with Amy's fans so that they too can enjoy Amy, in her words," Mitch and Janis said in a statement.
HarperCollins plans to release "Amy Winehouse — In Her Words" in e-book and hardback forms on Aug. 29. You can pre-order the 288-page book's Kindle version on Amazon.
