Maddy Post Will help organize City events, facilitate volunteerism, foster connections
NewsFocus™ | Milton, GA – Maddy Post welcomed as its new Community Outreach Manager on Aug. 2. City leaders believing her unique talents, experience, and enthusiasm can help create special moments and build vital bridges between citizens and their government.
Post comes to the City from Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, where she had a leading, managing role in various campaigns and initiatives related to the Children’s Miracle Network. That said, she’s very familiar with Milton – living in the area with her husband and young children.
In addition to fundraising, special events and other work with the CHOA Foundation, the University of Georgia graduate spent nearly two years as the Leadership and Staff Development Director at YMCA Camp High Harbour.
Milton’s Community Outreach Manager falls under the Parks and Recreation Department – a function of the fact that both fundamentally strive to connect people with the City government and their neighbors.
Post’s roles will include organizing grassroots events from Carvin’ in Crabapple to Christmas festivities to Memorial Day ceremonies that can foster a sense of pride, belonging, joy and community.
The combination of Maddy’s infectious energy with her impressive organizational and managerial skills make her a great fit for this important role. This is her home, too, and we know she’ll work well to make our community even stronger. —Tom McKlveen, Director, Parks and Recreation
She’ll also look to build and support the City’s relationship with a variety of community groups, such as by facilitating volunteerism and forging other partnerships that benefit the wider community. Reaching out to those people and places not already involved with the City, in whatever way, will be a chief focus.
