Upon arrival, Atlanta Police Dept. (APD) officers located an adult male with a gunshot wound. The victim was alert, conscious and breathing, and transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
APD Criminal Investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The investigation continues according to APD, and they request that the public please keep in mind the above information is preliminary in nature and can change as the investigation progresses and new information comes to light.

APD units responded from Field Operations Division Zone 3 Patrol, Criminal Investigations Div. (CID), Community Services Div. Titans K-9 Unit, and Support Services Div. Crime Scene Investigations (CSI) Unit.
Atlanta Fire Rescue Dept. and Grady EMS also responded to the incident scene.
This incident location is in the Pittsburgh neighborhood of Southwest Atlanta within the Neighborhood Planning Unit V (NPU-V); it is in City Council District 12 represented by Councilmember Antonio Lewis.
It is important to note, as guaranteed by the United States and Georgia Constitutions, suspects are innocent until proven guilty, and there have been times when the innocent have been wrongfully arrested and convicted.
