School is officially in session again. Thank you to all the contributors who helped keep parents, children, teachers and the community informed by participating in our Back to School content campaign. From special events to savings and even staffing issues, there were a lot of impactful stories that were shared.

The Shifa Clinic hosts a special back to school event for the Charleston Community by Making It With The Matthews
Making It With the Matthews shared a back to school community event in Charleston, South Carolina. The event featured free haircuts (from Travis!), school supplies, ice cream, health screenings, fresh produce and more.
Heather shared important information on Maryland’s tax-free week. The week allows teachers and parents to buy school supplies such as backpacks, clothing and more without paying 6% state sales tax on qualifying items.
Lashaunta covered the details of new grant scholarships in Chicago. $230,000 was set aside for the program to offer financial aid for residents who are full-time students and meet other eligibility requirements. The purpose of the scholarships is to remove some of the financial barriers that residents face when pursuing educational opportunities for better career growth.
