After waiting 26 years, Atlanta Braves fans are excited to have an MLB championship in our state. On the edge of our seats, the Houston Astros forced a game 6, however, the Braves were able to win the game 7-0 and close out the series 4-2.

Most notably is the magnificent 2021 World Series championship ring revealed to us. There are 755 diamonds, one pearl, and 19 rubies. Its total carat weight is 13.3 carats in 14-Karat yellow and white gold. There are 150 diamonds on the ring to commemorate the franchise's 150 years of history. Dedicated to Braves legend Hall of Famer, Hank Aaron, the ring contains 44 Emerald cut diamonds. In both RBI (2,297) and total bases (6,856), Aaron remains the MLB's all-time leader. In 1871 the Braves were founded and are commemorated with 18.71 karats of white gold.

Truist Park announced a World Series replica ring giveaway in which the first 40,000 ticketed fans will receive a replica of the 2021 World Series champions' ring. On Monday fans waited in line for over seven hours to receive their rings.

Initially, Motter worked as a public address announcer for his son's youth football games and joined the Braves in 2007. Casey was an integral part of the Braves fan experience at Truist Park and his shoes will be hard to fill. Now, open auditions are being held by the Braves for their next "Voice of the Braves". Fulton County needs school bus drivers

In Fulton County, bus drivers are in short supply on the first day of the new school year. Officials are hoping to fill two hundred school bus driver positions. Vickie Cross, Director of Transportation for the Fulton County Schools says, “This has been the worst driver shortage I’ve ever experienced.” The shortages have caused delays in pick-up and drop-offs of students causing concern for many parents. The driver's issue in Fulton County is critical, therefore, many incentives are being offered to attract new drivers and keep existing ones.

Gov. Brian Kemp continues gas tax suspension and supply chain state of emergency

With the current state gas tax suspension set to expire on August 13th, on Wednesday, August 3rd, in order to alleviate the financial crisis placed on Georgians, Governor Kemp signed two executive orders effective until September 12th. As a result of Kemp's extensions, the state's motor fuel excise tax will be suspended along with the suspension of state tax collection on locomotive fuel. Additionally, he renewed the State of Emergency for Supply Chain Disruptions.

Gas prices continue to rise in Georgia

For the time since 2008, motorists are seeing gas prices surge across the country. Tom Kloza, global head of energy analysis for the OPIS, which tracks gas prices for AAA states the national average is expected to hit $5 a gallon within the next two weeks. He said, "I think we reach $5 somewhere between this weekend and Juneteenth/Father's Day weekend."
