CNBC is reportedly canceling one of its most popular primetime shows due to a significant schedule shift in its programming lineup, as the channel's parent company, NBCUniversal, looks to shake things up in their lineup.

CNBC will reportedly be ending "Jay Leno's Garage," a key cog in their primetime lineup since 2015 when Leno began the show following the end of his tenure on the "Tonight Show." According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show's cancelation is part of a larger move by the network that will see a shift on CNBC's primetime to reruns of "Shark Tank," "Undercover Boss," and business-related documentaries.

The popular "Jay Leno's Garage" first began as a web series, before a viral episode inspired CNBC to give the show a slot in their lineup. It featured Leno showing off his impressive car collection while interviewing various celebrities and guests, usually discussing their own interests in cars.

Leno recently suffered severe burns following an accident at his garage late last year.

The comedian has been a staple of NBC programming since 1992 when he took over their late-night talk show from the legendary Johnny Carson. He continued until briefly handing over the show to Conan O'Brien, a move that was short-lived and ended up with Leno returning to the "Tonight Show," before finally giving it up for the current host, Jimmy Fallon.

Leno's future on television going forward is not clear, but it appears that his incredible run at NBC may be coming to its conclusion.
