This morning, around 3 am EST, Russia has attacked Ukraine. BBC News reports the Russian convoys have entered Ukraine from the east, north and south. The Northern point of entry was Belarus - thanks, Belarus - and the Southern point was Crimea which got annexed by Russia in 2014.
It's a full-fledged war in Eastern Europe.
Ukraine's president, Volodymyr Zelensky, compared Russia's actions to Nazi Germany during World War II:
Russia also targeted military bases and other Ukrainian strategic objects in major Ukrainian cities, including the country's capital, Kyiv. BBC News pointed out the following object on the map so far:
While I'm not promoting BBC News, they are posting live updates by the minute. So far, Ukraine reported to have 40 casualties, but this information would have to be updated. The country is battling the enemy from three different sides.
President Biden has condemned Russia's actions. He has also been warning Ukrainians and the entire world about Russia's attack days ago, but sadly, not everyone listened to him. Only 20% of Ukrainian people believed there will be a full-scale invasion.
Currently, it's unclear how far Russia will go and how bad the war is going to be. All we can do is follow live news and hope for the best. The Ukrainian President promised to post updates on his Twitter hourly.
