Newton played the first 9 seasons of his career in Carolina, leading the team to a Super Bowl. After Tom Brady departed for Tampa Bay, the Patriots brought in Cam Newton to lead the ship, but finished the season 7-9, missing the playoffs for the first time since 2008.
