Grapevine Vintage Railroad has partnered with the Museum of the American Railroad and Mattel to host 'Day out with Thomas' in Grapevine, Texas on September 24th, 25th and 26th and October 1st, 2nd and 3rd, 2021. Visitors can take a ride with classic storybook engine, Thomas, and experience steam train adventure through 4 party stops full of games, photo ops and more!
They recommend purchasing tickets in advance since they sell out fast and given that the event will be here only for 6 days. The tickets give unlimited access to play areas, photo ops, live entertainment and more. There is one train ride per ticket. Adults and children above 3 years of age are required to wear masks onboard.
Apart from riding with Thomas, kids will love meeting the famous Sir Topham Hatt, the railway controller from the series! Your ticket is also a site pass to access all 4 party stops, lawn game fun, hands-free activities, live entertainment, blast in the bubble zone and also the pop up gift shop for exclusive Thomas swag. There is also an interactive story session this year! Children can follow along to earn their official Travel Badge by helping Thomas during the train ride. Well, let's see who turns into a 'really useful friend' for Thomas.
Photo ops will also feature Thomas's friends which are other locomotives from the series. Some locations also offer riding in Percy, Thomas's best friend and this year, Grapevine will have one too! You will have to purchase additional tickets to ride Percy!
Although the train ride itself takes between 25 minutes, you can spend an entire day out with Thomas. In addition to the activities listed above, there is also going to be magic shows, putt-putt golf, wooden play tables, maze, jump station, temporary tattoos, video viewing and imagination station!
