(Parker, Colo.) Harvie Open Space access improvements are underway in preparation for public enjoyment by the end of the summer. The site plan for the 72-acres of open space was approved by Town Council earlier this month.
The property includes a conservation easement, held by Douglas Land Conservancy, which will require minimal modifications to maintain the land’s natural integrity.
The site plan includes soft-surface trails, interpretive signage, the planting of 16 new pine trees, additional revegetation, a gravel parking lot with up to 20 spaces, picnic shelters, tables, benches, and one restroom facility.
Although Harvie Open Space is slated to open by the end of the summer, work to the north of the Mainstreet and Canterberry Parkway intersection, is tentatively scheduled to finish by the end of the year.
