(Lone Tree, Colo.) This week, work began on the Lone Tree waterline replacement project, but construction has a long way to go.

The project began between Maximus Drive and Park Meadows Drive just west of South Metro Fire Station Number 34 on Maximus Drive. The contractors say no customers within the water distribution network should be impacted. Drivers can expect traffic delays.

The project is divided into two segments: the north and the south. The north segment will impact the area between County Line Road and Easter Road, and the south will impact Brook Hill Drive and Park Meadows Drive. A significant portion of the work will take place within residential streets.

The project will consist of constructing, installing, connecting, and testing water lines and lateral connections, isolation valves, fire hydrants, blow-off assemblies, air release valves, and pressure regulating valves.

The project is estimated to finish by Nov. 17.
