(Lone Tree, Colo.) NASA Aerospace Engineer, Tracy Drain, has a special presentation prepared for Lone Tree covering female accomplishments in science and space exploration.
Drain found her passion among the stars as a Flight Systems Engineer in NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. She attributes her early interest in the field to the women in her life, particularly her mother.
Drain witnessed her mother’s interest in airplanes and spacecraft and her healthy love for “Star Trek” and “Star Wars,” encouraging her to explore and keep moving forward.
Since then, Drain has worked to make contributions to science and worked as an instrumental part of some of NASA’s prominent projects.
In the presentation, Drain recalls her work on the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter launch as one of her favorite memories. She remembers the unforgettable feeling of being in the control room and witnessing the countdown to liftoff of a mission that wouldn’t have been possible without her.
Soon, Drain will be a part of the Psyche mission, in which an orbiter will launch to explore asteroids and comets throughout the solar system.
Drain will share her story to inspire young minds, especially young women, to shoot for the stars at 8 p.m. on March 25 at the Lone Tree Arts Center, 10075 Commons St.
Ticket prices range from $25-$45 and are available to reserve here.
