(Parker, Colo.) Parker Recreation officially opened their state-licensed preschool program at the Parker Fieldhouse. Classes began on Feb.6 for the inaugural class at the Parker Fieldhouse Preschool and enrollment is still open.
The Parker Fieldhouse Preschool is open for children ages three to five and features a curriculum of unstructured play opportunities including art, dramatic play, literacy, and science. Children will also have the opportunity to engage in play stations, small group time, and a closing circle that includes literacy, dance, music, emotional learning, and language activities.
The Parker Fieldhouse Preschool website states that students will have an increased learning experience through mixed-age classrooms.
“The three to five-year-old mixed-age classroom will enjoy benefits that include improved academic outcomes, increased social skills, boosted emotional well-being, and self-confidence, to name a few,” the site said.
To register, students must be at least three by Oct. 1 of the current school year. All participants must be potty trained, immunized, and have general health appraisal records to begin.
The Parker Fieldhouse Preschool will follow the Douglas County School District calendar although regular hours range from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for either a full-day or a half-day until noon.
A non-refundable annual registration fee of $110 for Parker residents or $120 for non-residents is required at the time of registration. Monthly rates range from $220 to $770.
