(Littleton, Colo.) Local artists are invited to apply for South Suburban Parks and Recreation’s 2023 Art on Loan to display sculptures at the Goodson Recreation Center and Hudson Gardens. Selected artists will receive a $500 honorarium for their display.
The South Suburban Public Art Committee will select sculptures for a year-long outdoor exhibit installed in June designed to promote public interest in art, develop community pride, and enhance the visitor experience around the Goodson Recreation Center in Centennial and The Hudson Gardens and Events Center in Littleton.
Proposed sculptures must be original and appropriate for outdoor display at a public facility. Sculptures must be durable against outdoor elements, non-breakable, relatively maintenance-free, and meet public safety and structural integrity standards.
The artwork must be available for sale and, if sold, must remain on display for the entire exhibition period. The artist is responsible for all sale transactions, payment of applicable taxes, and payment of a 20% commission to the parks department if sold due to the exhibit.
Local artists can apply for the 2023 program before March 20.
