(Highlands Ranch, Colo.) The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office welcomes guests to attend an open house and learn about working in law enforcement.
The Highlands Ranch Law Enforcement Training Academy Open House is from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. on Jan. 21 at 6001 Ron King Trail in Littleton.
The open house is an opportunity to see what it’s like to become an academy deputy cadet, tour the training facility, talk to recruiters, meet previous cadets and instructors, and enjoy refreshments.
Cpl. Michael Donoho with the sheriff’s office invites anyone to attend. Although the department values military experience and a college education, no experience is required to become a cadet.
“We’re mostly looking for applicants who show consistent employment or education experience which shows follow through and dedication,” Donoho said.
Donoho said the sheriff’s office is an ideal place to start a law enforcement career due to the large variety of positions within the county including jobs at the jail, court services, transport services, patrol, traffic, K-9, investigations, community resources, support services, hazmat, SWAT, bomb, instructorships, and more.
“There are plenty of extra duty opportunities, consistent year-round training, an extremely supportive community, an extremely supportive county government, a competitive salary and benefits, and as the county population continues to grow so will the agency,” he said.
Applications are open until Jan. 31. For more information, attend the open house or view job postings here.
