6 holiday events to enjoy in Castle Pines

(Castle Pines, Colo.) Castle Pines celebrates the spirit of the season all month long. Consider celebrating the sights, smells, sounds, tastes, and feels of the holidays with events ranging from Christmas light displays to a breakfast with Santa Claus. 

Here are six festive events in Castle Pines from Dec. 2 to Dec. 18:

The tree lighting ceremony

5-7 p.m. Dec.2 at The Ridge, 1414 Castle Pines Pkwy. 

Celebrations kick off with a tree lighting at The Ridge. Activities include a meet and greet with Santa Claus and his reindeer, train rides, food trucks, and carolers. 

The event is free, but an exclusive VIP experience is available. The VIP tickets include a reserved parking space in the Ridge lot, access to the clubhouse, food, and festive cocktails. 

VIP tickets start at $56.62.

Trail of Lights

5-8 p.m. every Wednesday-Sunday, Dec. 3-18 at The Ridge, 1414 Castle Pines Pkwy.

The Trail of Lights allows visitors to enjoy Christmas lights displayed along a walking trail.

The experience is free.

Gingerbread decorating

10 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 4 at The Ridge, 1414 Castle Pines Pkwy.

Guests are welcome to join in on edible holiday fun. Gingerbread decorating registration includes a pre-built gingerbread house along with extra candy to decorate with. 

Registration prices start at $10.30.

Movie night: “Elf”

5-8 p.m. Dec. 9 at The Ridge, 1414 Castle Pines Pkwy.

Guests are invited to cozy up in their favorite Christmas pajamas for a movie night showing of the movie “Elf.” Guests also can bring their blankets, sleeping bags, and snacks.

Tickets to the show start at $5.15.

Holly Jolly Breakfast 

8 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 10 at The Ridge,1414 Castle Pines Pkwy.

Guests are invited to enjoy a continental-style breakfast alongside Santa Claus. Santa Claus will then read “The Night Before Christmas.”

Registration is required, and tickets start at $20.59.

Carriage rides

4-8 p.m. Dec. 17 at The Ridge, 1414 Castle Pines Pkwy.

Guests are invited to bundle up and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa on a holiday carriage ride through Castle Pines. 

This event is free, although registration is required.
