(Douglas County, Colo.) Douglas County will host a day of gratitude to honor those who served in the United States armed forces.

The Board of Douglas County Commissioners, Douglas County Veterans Service Office, and the Douglas County Veterans Monument Foundation invite all residents to attend the free event.

The event begins at 11 a.m. on Nov. 5 at the Veterans Monument Plaza, 301 Wilcox St. in Castle Rock. The Veterans Day event will include a keynote address, music, an F-16 flyover, and more.

The program’s keynote speaker this year is U.S. Army Special Forces and Green Beret John Price. Price, who was deployed worldwide, now works as a leader in space exploration, cyber security, and artificial intelligence.

The 120th Fighter Squadron will provide the F-16 flyover. The Colorado Air National Guard and Byron Miller will provide musical performances.

Guests can sponsor a wreath for Wreaths Across America. The wreath-laying ceremony will occur on Dec. 17 to honor veterans laid to rest at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Castle Rock and Fort Logan National Cemetery.
