5 things you can do in Douglas County this week

(Douglas County, Colo.) Stay up-to-date with events in Douglas County. This week's events include everything from the Colorado Renaissance Fair to town input meetings. 

Here are five events happening between June 13 and June 19 to consider adding to your calendar: 

Citizens' Recreation Advisory Committee Meeting 

5-6 p.m. June 13 located at 9220 Kimmer Dr., Suite 100 in Lone Tree 

The Citizens' Recreation Advisory Committee is in place to help enhance the city of Lone Tree's recreation opportunities and services. The Committee works alongside the city staff and the South Suburban Park and Recreation District and is open to the public for a comment period at the meeting. For further information, click here.

Proposed recreation facility open house 

4-6 p.m. June 14 at The Millhouse located at 1381 W. Plum Creek Pkwy. in Castle Rock 

The Town of Castle Rock wants to gain feedback from residents about a potential sports center with aquatics, fitness and gym facilities as part of the Brickyard development, the proposed site at the former Acme Brick facility. 

Residents can attend the open house to learn more about the proposal and share feedback. Comments are also welcome online here and should be submitted before June 24. 

Coffee with a Cop 

8-10 a.m. June 15 at the Northridge Recreation Center located at 8800 Broadway in Highlands Ranch 

The Douglas County Sheriff's Department partnered with the Highlands Ranch Community Association to bring the Coffee with a Cop series to the Highlands Ranch Recreation Centers. 

These free informal conversations give residents and business owners a chance to connect with the police in a relaxed atmosphere while enjoying light refreshments.

Tunes for Trails, Perks for Parks Concert Series: Something Underground 

6:30-9 p.m. June 16 at The Amphitheater at Philip S. Miller Park located at 1375 W. Plum Creek Pkwy. in Castle Rock 

The Tunes for Trails, Perks for Parks free concert series is here for the summer every third Thursday of the month through September. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. for guests to enjoy yard games, bounce houses, food and drinks. 

While this is a free event, the Castle Rock Parks and Trails Foundation, currently fundraising for the Possibilities Playground, will accept donations.

Colorado Renaissance Festival 

10 a.m.- 6:30 p.m. every Saturday and Sunday, June 18- Aug. 7 at 650 Perry Park Ave. in Larkspur 

The Colorado Renaissance Festival begins its 2022 season this weekend. The fair features rides, vendors, shows, food, and a chance to dress up in costume. Ticket prices range from $11- $26.50 and are available here.
