Parker's first Trader Joe's store opens May 6

(Parker, Colo.) Parker's first Trader Joe's is set to open May 6 with a day of celebration and giveaways. The grand opening kicks off at 7:55 a.m. with a ceremonial ribbon cutting and giveaways held until 9 p.m., when the store closes.

The new 9,600 square-foot store is located at 18374 Cottonwood Drive just off Interstate E-470 in Parker and is the company's eighth Colorado location.

Trader Joe's is a national chain of grocery stores known for groundbreaking food items like cookie butter and everything bagel seasoning. It's also known for 19¢ bananas and specialty wines.

The Parker Trader Joe's will donate 100 percent of products that aren't sold but remain safe to community organizations through the company's long-standing Neighborhood Shares Program.

Nakia Rohde, Trader Joe's public relations manager, said the company donated over $349 million worth of food and beverages in 2021 to communities across the country. All stores participate, which is something the company is proud to offer.

The company also proudly offers salaries above minimum wage. The Parker store is hiring crew member positions with $17 to $20 per hour starting wages.
