New AI-powered chatbot expected to go online after New Year
In an upcoming collaboration, the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) and Google Public Sector are set to launch an AI-powered chatbot named 'Chat with CTA' in the early months of the next year.
The chatbot's primary function is to address fundamental travel inquiries and gather rider feedback on the quality of their journeys, as outlined in an official press release by the agency.
President Dorval Carter Jr. emphasized the commitment to exploring innovative ways for customers to reach out, utilizing modern technology to enhance the overall CTA travel experience.
The Chat with CTA bot will be versatile, accommodating queries in English, Spanish, Polish, Simplified Chinese, and Filipino/Tagalog, as per the official announcement.
Despite these advancements, the existing customer service avenues, including the phone number, email address, and web feedback tools, will remain accessible.
The initiative aligns with the CTA's "Meeting the Moment" strategy, focusing on post-pandemic modernization, unveiled earlier this year. While a specific release date is pending, the program is anticipated to go live in the early months of the upcoming year.
