Although Georgia representative Marjorie Taylor Greene recently quit the Catholic Church saying it was under Satin's control, she recently appeared to be weeping upon hearing that Roe v. Wade might be overturned which would end legalized abortion in the US

Upon hearing news of the leaked Supreme Court draft suggesting that the Justices were considering overturning Roe v. Wade in the near future, Georgia representative Marjorie Taylor Greene appeared to shed tears of joy. She called the potential ruling, “a victory for God”. This came only a week after she left the Catholic Church, accusing Church leaders of being controlled by Satan for their willingness to settle undocumented refugees and migrants.

After reading the draft, Greene took to social media to release a video in which she said tearfully, “I just wanna make an announcement and I’m sorry I’m just overwhelmed with emotion. This is the best news of our lifetime."

Greene was immediately criticised on social media for her public reaction to the leaked draft. One Twitter user said:

“A theocratic fascist shedding tears of joy as her country slips into the dark ages with one of the most sophisticated cars in the world in the background. I don’t know if there is another image more cynically American than this one”.

Greene was also heavily criticised for first saying that the Supreme Court had already voted to overturn Roe v. Wade, then saying a draft of the opinion had been released, which was not accurate.

News of the possible change in policy came from a draft which had been leaked documenting the courts deliberations in a related case which implied that a majoriy of the justices intended to overturn the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision which legalized abortion in the U.S. The opinion was written by Justice Samuel Alito with at least four other justices supporting it.

Chief Justice John Roberts made a statement about the leaked document, calling the leak "a betrayal" and underscoring that this was not a final decision. He said:

“Although the document described in yesterday’s reports is authentic, it does not represent a decision by the Court or the final position of any member on the issues in the case.”

If Roe v. Wade is overturned it is probably that at least 26 states will fully ban or at least severely restrict the practice of abortion. A decision is expected sometime over the summer.
