Enjoy These Three Events in April at Chicago's Lincoln Park Zoo

Upcoming April events at the Chicago Lincoln Park Zoo not to be missed include Adults Night Out Spring Fling, Egg-Straveganza, and Craft Brews

First opened in 1868, the Lincoln Park Zoo has become one of the most popular culturall spots for visitors to Chicago and residents alike. It is the only free zoo in the U.S. that is privately managed. They pride themselves on the number and types of diverse species they have to view and the special habitats allow visitors to view natural behaviors. What began with two pairs of swans has become a 35 acre campus with hundreds of differenct animals to view. Lincoln Park Zoo also has one of the biggest zoo-based conservation programs in the country.

In addition to being able to visit the zoo free of charge throughout the year, it also has a variety of special programs. There are three special events in April.

Adults Night Out: Spring Fling

Date: April 7, 2022

Time: 6:30 - 10:30

Price: $15 Buy Tickets

Age: 18+

This party is a one of a kind experience held at the zoo. Wander the grounds and see the animals while sipping on a beer or cocktail. This is an opportunity to see some animal behavior from nocturnal species you aren't likely to see during the day.

The theme for the night is Post-Prom Party so check the back of your closet for any kind of throwback wear you can find. There will be a live DJ providing tunes that are bound to make you feel nostalgic, themed photo ops and a variety of outdoor games.

Tickets include:

  • Free rides all night long on the Endangered Species Carousel
  • Animal talks at various habitats provided by Lincoln Park Zoo staff
  • Live classic prom favorites and throwback classics provided by DJ Marcus Carter
  • Food for purchase and cash bar
  • Free face painting
  • Themed photo ops
  • Professional photos also available for purchase
  • Lawn games and
  • Space to walk sit and talk with friends or that special someone
  • And Just Added - Make your own boutonnière or corsage to wear for this special night. Led by members of the park's horticulture team, this DIY adult crafting activity will provide you with the perfect finish for your post prom outfit. You'll also have the chance to learn about some of the landscaping and horticulture techniques used at the zoo.

Easter Egg-Straveganza

Date: April 16, 2022

Time: 8:00-12:00

Cost: $35 Get Tickets

Age: All ages welcome

This is one of the favorite places in Chicago to celebrate Easter as a family. Enjoy the holiday with a ton of family friendly activities which include::

  • Several egg hunts for different age children (choose a time when you buy tickets)
  • Meet the Easter Bunny and some of his friends for great photo ops
  • Free rides on the Lionel Train Adventure and the Endangered Species Carousel
  • Outdoor lawn games and activities a
  • Music for children and adults alike

Egg hunts are designed for two age groups which are children 3 years old and under, and children 4 and over. So your littlest ones won't have to compete with the older children!

For the first time this year, tickets come with $5 Bunny Bucks vouchers for use at the Park Place Cafe on the day of the event. They will be serving a variety of breakfast and lunch dishes and those over 21 can order mimosas and bloody marys.

Craft Brews at Lincoln Park Zoo

Date: April 30, 2022

Time: 6:00pm - 10:00pm

Cost: $55 - $65, Buy Tickets

Age: 21+

Attend the sixth annual Craft Brews beer festival at the zoo and enjoy trying selections from over 150 craft beers and cidars. As you sip your choices you can stroll through the zoo's stunning gardens as the sun sets.Listen to music, play lawn games and view the animals at a time when the park is less crowded. There will also be food you can purchase.

General admission includes 7:00 pm entry time and tickets for (20) 3 ounce beer tastings along with
a souvenir tasting glass for you to take home. If you need more time, get an early admissions ticket which allows you to enter at 6:00pm along with an extra hour of beer tasting.
