Things to do: Explore the silver-mining ghost town of Lake Valley, New Mexico

Join in as Russ & Kerry visit Lake Valley, a New Mexico ghost town located between Nutt and Hillsboro in Sierra County. Peak population prospered between 1881-1893 and declined steadily after the silver panic in 1893. 1974 saw the passing of its last resident. Explore a chapel, several old homes, the cemetery, and an old schoolhouse. Today, the area is managed by Bureau of Land Management and is free for people to visit between 9am-4pm, Thursdays through Mondays (closed Tuesdays & Wednesdays). Location: 17 miles south of Hillsboro on State Road 27.
